This fountain is an authentic replica of a Frederic W. Darlington-designed fountain that was originally built and opened for the 1908 Democratic National Convention. This replica fountain debuted for the 2008 Democratic National Convention. The new Electric Fountain is a highly complex combination of plumbing, power distribution and low-voltage control systems. The majority of this equipment is housed in a water proof concrete vault in the middle of the 27 acre city park lake. Our contribution to this project was the electrical engineering for the power distribution system, electrical power and lighting vault systems, and coordination of the design of the various electrical control systems including safety interlocks for the fountain show operation.
